A Biographical Novel Brings Oppenheimer’s Story to the Screen
The film is based on the biographical novel “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer,” written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The book won a Pulitzer Prize in 2006 and has now been adapted for the screen by Nolan, who will also serve as both director and producer on the project. Charles Roven and Emma Thomas will also produce the film.
Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” to Premiere Under Universal Pictures
Christopher Nolan’s latest film, “Oppenheimer,” will be the director’s first film to be released by Universal Pictures. Nolan previously worked with Warner Bros., but the two parted ways due to Nolan’s frustration with the studio’s hybrid release model, which saw its 2021 films premiere on the HBO MAX streaming service simultaneously with their theatrical release. With Universal Pictures, Nolan will have more control over the release of his film and is sure to deliver something truly spectacular.

Cillian Murphy Teases Unique Approach to Oppenheimer’s Story
Cillian Murphy, who stars as J. Robert Oppenheimer in the film, recently spoke about the unique approach Nolan is taking to telling the physicist’s story. In an interview with Esquire, Murphy said,
“It’s the first time he’s cast me in a lead, which I’m still a bit in shock about, but I’m thrilled. It’s a huge part and a lot of work. But in my estimation, you’re working with one of the greatest living directors, so you’re in safe hands. The difference with this one is the story is there, everybody knows what happened. But Chris is telling it in a different way, as with Chris you would expect. That’s all I can say… I’m not going to say. They’d kill me – they’re so strict!”
The Man Behind the Movie:
